On Sunday 6th March Trentham Brass travelled to the Cube in Corby for the 2022 4th Section Midlands Area Brass Band Championships. The band was drawn to play last on the day, so played to a full theatre. The test piece was Argos by Stephan Hodel – real pleasure to play!
Everyone was thrilled to be placed 2nd and to win an invitation to the National Finals in Cheltenham in September, for the 2nd year running. Some excellent comments were received from the adjudicators: Overall a performance of real merit showing excellent musical understanding from the middle and stylistic awareness. A few little scrappy moments just took the gloss off, but so much to enjoy, fantastic direction MD!
